Whether you are looking for support with an existing heath condition, want to reduce your day-to-day stress levels or would just like a little "me" time, my aim is to get you feeling happier, healthier and energised with specially-tailored Reflexology treatments.

I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet corresponding to all parts of the body. The feet are like a mini map of the body. By working these reflexes we may help heal the whole person and not just the obvious symptoms.

· Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance. Reflexology may be used to restore and maintain the body's own natural equilibrium.

· It is a very gentle therapy and is suitable for all ages. It may bring relief from a wide range of chronic & acute conditions.

· Treatments can be aimed at specific ailments and conditions, or regular treatments could act as effective preventative healthcare, as well as for relaxation.

General Treatments

These can help with everyday ailments and aid as great general relaxation. Although Reflexology treats the whole body during each treatment, I often tailor them to suit specific health and wellbeing issues. Clients leave feeling relaxed, de-stressed and also energised. Many clients reporting an improvement to their symptoms over the next 48 hours. As with all treatments this is a space for you to completely relax and switch off and take an hour to yourself while I do the hard work!

Menopause

This period of time in a woman's life can be a roller coaster of emotions and health issues. Again with the rebalancing affect of reflexology we can tackle this time together and tailor a plan to suit your needs. This support will I hope help your body to rebalance those hormones and calm the symptoms and anxieties that come with menopause

Fertility and Maternity Reflexology

Reflexology may help with many aspects of pregnancy and birth. From the difficulties of conceiving, through to assisting during labour. I have completed further training in

'Reflexology in Pregnancy & Childbirth' run by world expert Moshe Kruchik.

Pre Conception

Many couples experience problems that make it difficult to conceive. Some are known, others remain unsolved. Sometimes it can

just be a small energy imbalance or blockage. Reflexology may rebalance all the systems in the body and by working specifically on the reflex points of the

reproductive system conception may be aided.

Pregnancy

Reflexology during pregnancy may be extremely beneficial to both mother and baby. Reflexology may help many common pregnancy

related ailments. Throughout your pregnancy significant hormonal, physiological and emotional changes occur. Reflexology aims to rebalance and

maintain a natural equilibrium throughout this time. Reflexology may also help your body prepare for

the impending delivery of your baby. Reflexology is a complementary therapy and full midwife/doctor care must be followed throughout pregnancy and labour. It is

advisable to let your health professional know you are receiving treatments and it is also imperative that you let me know of any complications or problems

during your pregnancy. I do not treat during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Post Natal

Postnatal reflexology sessions may be beneficial to both mother and baby. For the mother it can assist the body to heal quicker and rebalance the hormones. It may help with sleep problems, postnatal depression and may improve energy levels. For your baby, a very gentle form of reflexology may help with sleep, digestion and many other problems. These gentle moves can also be taught to you so you can continue treating your baby at home.

The Benefits of Reflexology

Balance

Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.

Relaxation

Reflexology may induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.

Health

While it is not a cure, Reflexology may be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.

Frequently asked questions

What to expect?

· A typical appointment lasts approximately 1 hour, allowing time initially to discuss your treatment and how it is progressing each week, followed by a treatment of about 45 minutes.

· At your first appointment I will ask you general questions relating to your health, lifestyle & well being. The treatment then follows. I will work both the feet by applying pressure to various reflex points throughout. You may feel very relaxed, you may feel some discomfort. You may also feel sensations throughout the body or you may feel nothing.

What are your fees and availability?

Treatments are £48. This includes an initial consultation at your first session and a follow up chat before each subsequent session. Actual treatment time is 45 minutes.

£40 for children under 16.

6 Treatments for the price of 5 if prepaid in advance £240 and must be used within 6 months.

Gift vouchers available for any number of sessions – these make a lovely gift.

Appointments are available Mon – Fri from 9am to 7pm and subject to availability at the clinic.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.

What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.

And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Does reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.

How many sessions might I need?

Some people may only need one session, typically though a course of 4-6 sessions is normal. This all depends on the ailment, how long you have suffered and many other factors. Children's sessions will be shorter and children tend to respond quicker so less treatments may be required. Again no one person is the same. After a course of treatments why not come for a monthly/6 weekly top up session to keep your body balanced. Some people like to come regularly purely for relaxation as well.
